From the Chair
As we enter the 2022-2023 academic year, the Department of Dermatology has a lot to celebrate. This year celebrates our 10th year as a department and residency program at UMMC. We celebrate another year of 100% pass rates for our residency program and another outstanding residency match to add to our excellent group of residents. But what we celebrate the most are outstanding faculty, nurse practitioners, nurses, clinic and administrative support staff. Every member of our dermatology team plays a critical role in providing quality dermatologic care to the people of Mississippi. None of this celebration would be possible without the vision, hard work, and leadership of Dr. Bob Brodell. His impact on this department and the state of Mississippi is immeasurable. He has now answered the call of UMMC to lead the Department of Pathology, but he has handed over a department that is strong, stable, and in position for continued growth. We are fortunate that he will continue to serve our department, even as he leads pathology. I am blessed to be part of such an amazing team and look forward to helping lead our department in our missions of education, research, and patient care. I look forward to engaging with our alumni, affiliate faculty, and community dermatologists as we all strive to elevate the quality of dermatologic care in our great state.
